１ 霊界のフェスティバル

こうして私たちが地上へ降りて来て、今なお地上という谷間を歩む一個の人間と通信を交わす時の心境はまずあなたには判らないでしょう。同じく霊界にいる者の中でも、私たちは余ほど恵まれた境遇にあることを身に沁みて感じるのです。
それと言うのも、こうして人類の向上のために役立つ道があることを自信を持って語れる段階まで来てみますと、善行と啓発の可能性は本当に無限にあるように思えるのです。もっとも、今のところ私たちに出来ることは限られております。
あなたのように、神を信じその子イエスに身をあずけることによって神に奉仕する者には何一つ怖れるものは無いとの信念のもとに、勇敢に私たちに協力してくれる者（※）が出てくるまでは、この程度で佳しとしなければならないでしょう。

今なお霊魂の存在と私たちの使命とメッセージに疑いをはさむ人のためにひとこと言わせて頂けば、私たちが美しい霊界の住処（すみか）を離れて地球を包む暗い霧の中へ降りて来る時は、決して鼻歌交じりの軽い気持ちで来るのではありません。
私たちには使命があるのです。誰かがやらねばならない仕事を携えてやってくるのです。そして、そのことに喜びを感じているのです。
さてあれから少し後───地上的な言い方をすれば───のことです。私たちは、とある広い場所へ案内されました。そこには大きな湖───湖盆と言った方が良いようなもの───があり、その中へ絶え間なく水が流れ込んでおり、まわりにはかなりの間隔を置いて塔のついた大きな会館（ホール）の様なものが立ち並んでおります。
建築様式も違えばデザインも違い、素材も同じ種類ではありません。ホールのまわりには広々とした庭園や森があって、中には何マイルにも広がっているものもあり、そこには各種の動物や植物が群がっております。
大部分は地上でも見かけるものですが、見かけないものもあります。ただし私の記憶では、現在は見かけなくても曽ては生息したものが少しはあると思います。以上が外観です。私がお話したいのは、そうしたコロニーの存在の目的です。
目的は実は音楽の創造と楽器の製造に他なりません。ここに住む人たちは音楽の研究に携わっているのです。各種の音楽の組み合わせ、その効果、それも単に〝音〟として捉えるのではなく、他の要素との関連をも研究します。
幾つかの建物を見学してまわりましたが、そこに働く人全員が明るく楽しそうな表情で私たちを迎えて下さり、すみずみまで案内して下さいました。
同時に私たちに理解できる範囲のことを説明して下さいましたが、正直言ってそれはそう多くはありませんでした。では私たちに理解できた範囲のことを説明してみましょう。
ある建物───見学してみると製造工場というよりは研究所と呼んだ方が良いと思いました───の中では地上で作曲の才能のある人間へ音楽的インスピレーションを送る最良の方法の研究に専念しており、又ある建物では演奏の得意な人間に注目し、さらには声楽の得意な人間、教会音楽の専門家、コンサートミュージック、あるいはオペラの作曲に携わる人間等々の為に各各の建物が割り当てられているのです。
研究の成果は体系的に図表化されます。そこまでがここに働く人たちの仕事です。その成果を今度は別のグループの人たちが目を通し、それをどうすれば最も効果的に地上へ送れるかを検討します。
検討が終わると更に別のグループの人たちが実際にベールを通して地上へ送る作業に取り掛かります。まず目標とすべき人間が選別されます。すなわちインスピレーションに最も感応しやすいタイプです。
そうした選別をするのが得意なグループが別にいて、細かい検討が加えられます。全てが整然としております。湖の周りの研究所から地上の教室やコンサートホール、オペラハウス等へ向けて、天上の音楽を送り届けることに常時携わっている人たちの連繋組織があるのです。
こういう具合にして地上に立派な音楽が生まれるのです･･････。もちろんそうです、地上の音楽の全てがこちらから送られたものとは限りません。
それはこちらの音楽関係者の責任ではなく、ベールのそちら側の入口に問題があり、同時にこちら側の暗黒界の霊団による影響もあり、受け取った地上の作曲家の性格によって色付けされてしまうこともあります。
──塔は何のためにあるのでしょうか。
これからそれを説明しようと思っていたところです。
湖は広大な地域に広がっており、その沿岸から少し離れた一円にさっきの建物（ホール）が建っております。
そして時おり、あらかじめ定められた時が来ると、それぞれの研究所（ホール）で働く人のうちの幾人か───時には全員───がそれぞれの塔に集まり、集結し終わるとコンサート、まさにコンサートの名に相応しいコンサートが催されます。
演奏曲目は前もって打合わせが出来ております。一つの塔には一つのクラスの演奏者がおり、別の塔には別のクラスの演奏者がおり、次の塔に一定の音域の合唱団がおり、そのまた次の塔には別の音域の合唱団がおります。それが幾つもあるのです。
地上では四つの音域しかありませんが、こちらでは音域がたくさんあるのです。さらに別の塔の人にも別の受け持ちがあるのですが、私には理解できませんでした。私の推測ではそれぞれの塔からの音量を適度に調和させる専門家もいるようでした。
そのことよりも私は催しそのもの───コンサート、フェスティバル、何でもよろしい───の話に入りたいと思います。私たちは湖の真ん中あたりにある島へ案内されました。そこは美しい木々と芝生と花が生い繁り、テラスや東屋、石または木で出来た腰掛けなどがしつらえてあります。そこでフェスティバルを聞いたのです。
まず最初にコードが鳴り響きました。長く途切れることなく、そして次第に大きくなって行き、ついにはその土地全体───陸も水も樹木の葉一枚一枚までも行き亘っていくように思えました。それは全ての塔にいる楽団及び合唱団にキーを知らせるものでした。
やがてそれが弱まって行き全体がシーンと静まり返りました。すると今度は次第にオーケストラの演奏が聞こえてまいりました。多くの塔から出ているのですが、どの演奏がどの塔という区別がつきません。完全なハーモニーがあり、音調のバランスは完璧でした。
続いて合唱が始まりました。その天上の音楽を地上の言語で叙述するなど、とても無理な話なのですが、でもその何分の一かでも感じ取っていただけるかもしれないと思って述べているのです。
簡単に言えば、全ての存在をより麗わしくするものがありました。美しいというだけではないのです。麗わしさがあるのです。この二つの形容詞は意味合いが違うつもりで使用しております。
私たちの顔に麗わしい色合いと表情が表われ、樹木は色彩が一段と深みを増し、大気は虹のような色彩をした霞に似たものに変化して行きました。それが何の邪魔にもならないのです。むしろ全てを一体化させるような感じすら致しました。
水面には虹の色が映り、私たちの衣服もその色彩を一段と強めておりました。さらには動物や小鳥までがその音楽に反応を示しているのです。
一羽の白い鳥がとくに記憶に残っておりますが、その美しい乳白色の羽根が次第に輝きを増し、林の方へ飛んで行く直前に見た時は、まるで磨き上げた黄金のような色───透明な光あるいは炎のように輝いておりました。
やがて霞がゆっくりと消えて行くと私たち全員、そして何もかもが再びいつもの状態に戻りました。と言っても余韻は残っておりました。強いて言うならば〝安らぎ〟とでも言うべきものでした。
以上がこの〝音楽の里〟で得た体験です。私たちが聞いた音楽はその後専門家が出来具合を繰り返し討論し合い、ここを直し、そこを直しして、これを何かの時、たとえばこちらでの感謝祭（※）とか、地上での任務を終えて帰ってくる霊団を迎えるレセプションとか、その他の用途に使用されることになります。
何しろこちらの世界では音楽が全ての生活面に滲透しております。いえ、すべてが音楽であるようにさえ思えるのです。音楽と色彩と美の世界です。すべてが神の愛の中で生きております。私たちはとてもその愛に応え切れません。
なのに神の愛が私たちを高き世界へと誘い、行き着くところ全てに愛がみなぎり、神の美を身につける如くにその愛を身につけなくてはいけないのです。
そうせざるを得ないのです。なぜなら天界では神が全てであり、何ものにも替えられないものだからです。愛とは喜びです。
それをあなたが実感として理解するようになるのは、あなた自身が私たちと同じところへ来て私たちと同じものを聞き、私たちが神の愛を少し知る毎に見ることを得た神の美が上下、前後、左右、あたり一面に息づき輝いているのを目のあたりにした時のことでしかないでしょう。
力強く生きなさい。勇気を持って生きなさい。それだけの価値のある人生です。それは私たち自らが証言しているのですから。
では、お寝み。時おりあなたの睡眠中に今お話したような音楽のかすかなこだまをあなたの霊的環境の中に漂わせているのですよ。それは必ず翌日の生活と仕事の中によい影響を及ぼしております。
