質問ー悪魔はキリスト教が生み出したのでしょう？
「そうです。自分たちからみて悪と思えるものを何とか片付けるためにはそういうものを発明しなければならなかったのです。
悪も進化の過程の一翼を担っております。
改善と成長───絶え間なく向上せんとする過程の一つなのです。
人間にとって悪に思え苦痛に思えるものも進化の計画に組み込まれた要素なのです。
痛みがなければ健康に注意させる警告がないことになります。暗闇がなければ光もありません。
悪がなければ善もありません。
地上にもし悪が存在しなければ、何を基準に善を判断するのでしょうか。
改めるべき間違い、闘うべき不正が存在しなければ、人間の霊はどうやって成長するのでしょう」
質問ーいつの世にもその時点での人類の進化の段階からみて不正と思えるものが存在するということでしょうか。
「そういうことです。
進化の階段を登れば登るほど、改めるべきものを意識するようになるものだからです。
私が進化は永遠ですと言い、宇宙には始まりも終りもありませんと申し上げるのはそのためです。
向上の道に終点はありません。無限に続くのです。
それぞれの段階がそれまでの低い段階への勝利の指標にすぎません。
が、低いものがなければ高いものもあり得ないことになります。
人生は一本調子（ﾓﾉﾄｰﾝ）ではありません。光と蔭、晴天と嵐、喜びと悲しみ、愛と憎しみ、美と醜、善と悪の双方が揃わなくてはなりません。
人生はそうした比較対照を通じてのみ理解できるものだからです。
闘争を通して、奮闘を通して、逆境の克服を通してはじめて、神性を宿した人間の霊が芽を出し、潜在するさまざまな可能性が発揮されるのです。
そういう摂理になっているのです。
私がそう定めたのではありません。
私はただそれを自ら身に修める努力をしてきて、今それを皆さんにお教えしているだけです。
人間的存在としての神は人間がこしらえた概念以外には存在しません。
人間的存在としての悪魔も人間が発明した概念以外には存在しません。
黄金色に輝く天国も火焔もうもうたる地獄も存在しません。
そうしたものはすべて視野を限られた人間の想像的産物にすぎません。神は法則なのです。
それさえ理解すれば、人生の最大の秘密を学んだことになります。
なぜならば、世の中が不変にして不可変、全知全能の法則によって治められていることを知れば、絶対的公正が間違いなく存在し、宇宙の創造活動の大機構の中にあって一人として忘れ去られることがないことを知ることになるからです。
だからこそ全てが知れるのです。
だからこそ何一つ手落ちというものがないのです。
だからこそ人生のあらゆる側面が宇宙の大機構の中にあって然るべき位置を占めているのです。
だからこそ何一つ見逃されることがないのです。
いかに些細なことでも、いかに巨大なことでも。
すべてが法則のワク内に収められているからです。
すべてが法則だからです。存在を可能ならしめている法則なくしては何一つ存在できないのが道理です。
法則が絶対的に支配しているのです。
人間に与えられている自由意志が混乱を引き起こし、法則の働きを正しく見えなくすることはあっても、法則は厳然と存在しますし、また機能してもらわなくては困ります。
私はキリスト教の神学は人類にとって大きな呪いであったと思っています。
