まず、そもそも生命とは何かという問題ですが、

これは地上の人間にはまず理解できないと思います。

なぜかというと、生命とは本質において物質とは異なるものであり、

いわゆる理化学的研究の対象とはなり得ないものだからです。

で、私はよく生命とは宇宙の大霊のことであり、

神とはすなわち大生命のことだと言うのですが、

その意味は、

人間が意識を持ち、呼吸し、歩き、考えるその力、

その樹木が若葉をまとい、鳥がさえずり、花が咲き、

岸辺に波が打ち寄せる、

そうした大自然の脈々たる働きの背後に潜む力こそ、

宇宙の大霊すなわち神なのだというのです。

同じ霊力の一部であり一つの表現なのです。

あなた方が今そこに生きておられる事実そのものが、

あなた方も霊であることを意味します。

First of all, the question is what life is,

 but I don't think humans on earth can understand it. 

The reason is that life is essentially different from matter 

and cannot be the subject of so-called physicochemical research.

So, I often say that life is the spirit of the universe, 

and God is the great life, but that means the power of human beings to be conscious, 

breathe, walk, and think. 

It is said that the spirit of the universe, 

or God, is the power behind the pulsating work of nature, 

where the trees are dressed in young leaves, birds are singing, 

flowers are blooming, and waves are rushing to the shore.

It is part of the same psychic power and an expression.

The very fact that you are living there now means that you are also a spirit.
