いつの時代にも、霊の力が何らかの形で、その時代の前衛たる者―パイオニア、改革者、殉教者、教育家等々、輝ける真理の旗を高々と掲げた人々の心を鼓舞してまいりました。地上に存在するあらゆる力を超越した霊妙な何かを感じ、人類の未来像を垣間（かいま）見て、彼らはその時代に新たな輝きを添えたのでした。 

彼らのお蔭で多くの人々が暗闇のべールを突き通して、光明を見出すことができたのでした。彼らのお蔭で、用意のできていた者が、みずからの力で足枷を解きほどく方法（すべ）を知ったのでした。暗い牢獄からみずからの魂を解き放す方法を知ったのです。生活全体に行きわたっていた、うっとうしい空気が消えました。

地上世界の全域に、啓発の勢力が徐々に、実に牛の歩みではありますが、行きわたりつつあります。それにつれて無知の勢力が退却の一途をたどっております。今や地上人類は進軍の一途をたどっております。 

さまざまな形での自由を獲得しました―身体の自由、精神の自由、霊の自由です。偏見と迷信と無知の勢力から人類を解き放す上での一助となった人はみな、人類の永い歴史の行進を導いてきた、輝ける照明です。

魂の挫折感を誘発するのは、精神上の倦怠感と絶望感です。精神が明るく高揚している時こそ、魂は真の自我を発揮し、他の魂を永遠の光明へ向けて手引きするほどの光輝を発するのです」

さらに“生命力”の問題にふれて― 

「生命力が存在することに疑問の余地はありません。生命は、それにエネルギーを与える力があるからこそ存在します。それが動力源です。その本質が何であるかは、地上の人間には理解できません。

物質界というのは永遠の霊の光によって生じた影にすぎません。物質はただの“殻”であり、実在は霊なのです。

意識のなかったところに生命を与えたのが霊です。その霊があなたに自分を意識させているのです。 

霊こそ大霊によって人間に吹き込まれた息吹き、神の息吹きであり、その時点から自我意識をもつ生きた存在となったのです。

人間に神性を与えているのは、その霊なのです。 

その霊が人間を原始的生命形態から今日の段階へと引き上げてくれたのです。ただの禽獣（きんじゅう）と異なるのは、その霊性です。 

同胞に有徳の行為をしたいと思わせるのも、その霊性です。自分を忘れ、人のためを思う心を抱かせるのも、その霊性です。少しでも立派になろうと心掛けるようになるのも、その霊性のお蔭です。 

良心の声が聞こえるのも霊性があるからこそです。あなたはただの物質ではありません。霊なのです。この全大宇宙の運行と、そこに生活する全生命を経綸している力と同じものなのです。

人間は、その宇宙霊、その大生命力が個別性をそなえて顕現したものです。人間は個的存在です。神性を帯びた炎の小さな火花です。みなさんのいう神、わたしのいう大霊の、不可欠の一部分を占めているのです。 

その霊性は死によっていささかも失われません。火葬の炎によっても消すことはできません。その霊性を消す力をもったものは、この全大宇宙の中に何一つ存在しません」
