霊的真理は不変です
残念ながらシルバーバーチは地上時代の身元を最後まで明かしてくれなかった。わかっているのは間違いなく大変な高級霊であること、そして地上と交信するための中継役としてかつて地上で北米インディアンだった人物を霊界の霊媒として使用していたということだけである｡「地上時代のわたしは沢山の神様（ゴッド）を崇拝の対象としておりました」というのが、唯一、自分の地上時代のことに言及した言葉である。
そう述べた日の交霊会は次の言葉で始まった。
「生半可な知識は危険であるとよく言われますが、時として知識が多すぎても危険であることがあります。その知識が間違っている場合はとくにそうです。

わたしたちが、地上へ舞い戻ってきた理由はそこにあります。すなわち、いかなる人物であろうと、いかなる書物であろうと、いかなる教会であろうと、いかなる指導者であろうと――それが地上の存在であっても霊界の存在であっても――たった一つのものに盲従してはいけないこと、それよりも大霊が定められた大自然の摂理に従いなさい――これだけは絶対に誤ることがなく、絶対に正しいから、ということを説くためです。
わたしたちが大自然の摂理、それのみを説く理はそこにあります。それをスピリチュアリズムとお呼びになるのは結構です。ただし、あくまでもそれが大霊の定められたものであること、その働きは地上の物的生命も死後の霊的生命も含めた宇宙のあらゆる界層に及んでいることを理解した上ならば、ということです。
地上人類は指導者（リーダー）というものを必要以上に重んじすぎます。そしてその真価を超えた誇張をしてしまいます。そこから神学という厄介なもの――科学者にとって、思想家にとって、そして又、本来ならば自由闊達で理性が承知しないものは受け入れたくない誠実な人にとって、大変厄介なものをこしらえてしまったのです。
わたしたちが大霊の摂理を強調する理由はそこにあります。それを正しく理解することによって、すべての知識が生かされるのです。それだけは決して科学者や哲学者や自由思想家、その他いかなる分野の人の知性も反発させることはありません。永遠にして不変・不易の大霊の働きを基盤としているからです。
皆さんは今、霊界での審議会で用意された叡智がこのわたしを通して届けられるのをお聞きになっていらっしゃるのです。それを広めることによって地上人類の叡智と理解力とが増すにつれて、生活が大霊の御心にそったものとなるでしょう。摂理にのっとったものとなるでしょう。地上世界の悲劇と飢餓、苦労と心痛は、すべてその摂理に従った生き方をしていないところから生じていることを悟るようになるでしょう。その理解が深まるにつれて大霊の庭の美しさを見えなくしている醜い雑草が無くなっていくことでしょう。
それを目標としてわたしたちは、人類の魂を解放し、精神を自由闊達にするだけでなく、物的身体も自然の法則と調和した健康を享受（エンジョイ）できるようにしてあげようと努力しているのです」
ここでシルバーバーチは、自分がほぼ三千年前に地上生活を終えて霊界入りしてからの体験について興味ぶかい話をした。

こうした教えが地上に行きわたれば、人間界のすべての分裂が無くなります。国家間の障壁が無くなります。人種・階級・肌の色による差別､（英国教会系の）教会（チャーチ）､（非国教会系の）教会堂（チャペル）､（キリスト教以外の）聖堂（テンプル）､（イスラム教系の）寺院（モスク）､（ユダヤ教系の）礼拝堂（シナゴーグ）といった区別が無くなります。それぞれが大霊の真理の一部を宿しており、他の宗教が真髄としているものは自分の宗教が真髄としているものと少しも矛盾しないことが少しずつ解ってくるからです。
かくして表向きは混乱しているかに見えても、その中から霊的な原理が形を整え、調和と平和を生み出します。こうしたことを申し上げるのは、ここにお集まりの皆さんには、そうした大霊の大計画をぜひとも理解していただきたいからです。それは、わたしたち霊界から戻ってきた者が果たさねばならない役目であると同時に、皆さんのお一人お一人が地上生活を終えるまでに果たさねばならない役目でもあります」
