　英国の心霊治療家連盟の会員は今や六千名を数えるに至っている（平成六年現在）。これから紹介するのは、その連盟の代表四〇名がシルバーバーチと交わした徹底した質疑応答の録音からの抜粋である。

　その規模の大きさもさることながら、心霊治療について出された事細かな質問に対して、例によってシルバーバーチが懇切ていねいに答えていて、しかもそれが地上の人間の生き方についての忠言ともなっていて、シルバーバーチの霊言集を締めくくるのに相応しい内容になっている。

　まず質疑応答に入るに先立ってシルバーバーチが心霊治療の原理について一般的な講話を行なっている。 （一部割愛。これまで繰り返し述べられていることであると同時に、そのあとの質疑応答の中で何度も出てくることだからである）

　「心霊治療の目的はきわめて単純です。魂を目覚めさせること、これに尽きます。身体の症状が消えても魂が霊的なものに目覚めなかったら、その治療は失敗したことになります。反対に病気そのものは治っていなくとも、魂が目覚めて霊的なものに関心を抱くようになれば、その治療は成功したことになります。

　私たちの側からすれば、霊の資質と霊力は、大霊の子が例外なく宿している神性を自覚させるために使用すべきものであり、その結果として地上降誕の目的の認識が芽生えるのです。それこそが霊媒現象と呼ばれているさまざまな現象の背後に託された目的なのです。
