シルバーバーチの霊訓4章　

まえがき

　霊的交信と言う不安定な関係を永年にわたって維持し続けている数多くの優れた支配霊の中でも、ハンネン・スワッハー・ホームサークルの霊言霊媒モーリス・バーバネルの支配霊シルバーバーチほど広く愛され、しかるべき敬意を受けている霊はまずいない。

　本書の目的はそのシルバーバーチの膨大な霊言の記録の中から、今なお霊的実在の理解へ向けて刻苦している人類にとって不滅の意義をもつシルバーバーチならではの叡智の幾つかを選んでお届けすることである。

　私は当初、すでに出版されている霊言集の中から幾つかの主題に分けて抜粋しようと思った。つまり〝枕辺（ﾍﾞｯﾄﾞｻｲﾄﾞ）のシルバーバーチ〟とでも呼ぶべきものが最初の構想だったのである。

　ところが、いざ手がけてみると、シルバーバーチの霊言はそう簡単に扱えるものではないことが分った。大画家、大劇作家、大作曲家と同じく、シルバーバーチというのは常に人間的体験の重大なテーマを扱うか、永遠の普遍的真理を説き明かそうとしているかの、いずれかであることが分かった。

一見些細に思える問題について質問すると、シルバーバーチはすぐにそれを宇宙の大哲理の本流に繋がった支流として扱うのである。

　そこで私は、いっそのことその本流に足を踏み入れて、真理、死、恐怖心、愛、不滅性、人生の摂理、大霊すなわち神、その他いくつかの関連した問題についてのシルバーバーチの言葉を集めることにした。

　さてシルバーバーチの霊言の流暢（ﾘｭｳﾁｮｳ）さについては今さら申し上げるまでもない。経験豊かなさるジャーナリスト(モーリス・バーバネル)の言葉を借りれば───

　「シルバーバーチの教えは言わば霊の錬金術、つまりアルファベットの二十六文字を操って輝かんばかりの美しい言葉を生み出す能力の典型である。年がら年じゅう物を書く仕事をしている人間から見れば、

毎週毎週ぶっつけ本番でこれほど叡智に富んだ教えを素朴な雄弁さでもって説き続けることそれ自体がすでに超人的であることを示している。

　シルバーバーチは宗教とは互いに扶助し合うことに尽きると言う。神とは自然法則であり、腹を立てたり復讐心をむき出しにする人間的な神ではないと説く。その言葉一つひとつにダイヤモンドの輝きに似たものがある。その人物像はまさしく〝進化せる存在〟であり、全人類への愛に満ち、世故に長けた人間の目には見えなくても、童子の如き心の持ち主には得心のいく真理を説き明かそうとする。迷える人類のために携えてきたメッセージは〝人のために自分を役立てなさい〟ということしかないと言いつつも、そのたった一つの福音の表現法はキリがないかに思えるほど多彩である。

　永年にわたってその霊言に親しんできた者として、ますます敬意を覚えるようになったこの名文家、文章の達人に私は最敬礼する」

　第一集の　Teachings of Silver Birch（後注①）を読んだ英国新聞界の大人物の一人で政治家でもあるビーバーブルック卿 W.M.A. Beaverbrook　は当時の交霊会の司会者であるハンネン・スワッハー（第一巻21頁参照）へ宛てた手紙の中で〝文章が実に美しい。そして私はその内容の純真・素朴さに心を打たれました〟と激賞している。

　第二集の　More Teachings of Silver Birch (後注②)について　Natal Daily News 紙は〝イギリスの言語をこれほど優しく、これほど簡潔に、これほど美しく操った書は滅多にない〟と論評し〝英語による表現の最高傑作の一つ〟として　The Book of the Week　（その週の推選図書）に推している。

So I went even further into the mainstream and gave Silver Birch's words about truth, death, fear, love, immortality, providence of life, the ghost or god, and some other related issues. I decided to collect it.


Now, it goes without saying that the fluency of the spiritual language of Silver Birch. In the words of an experienced journalist (Maurice Barbanell) ───

Sir Beaverbrook, one of the adults and politicians in the British newspaper world who read the first collection of Teachings of Silver Birch (Note 1), was the moderator of the séance at the time, Hannen Swacher (Volume 1). Silver Birch has the same devotion to suffering humanity and awe for all life as seen in the modern saint Albert Schweizer. At the same time, we can see the innocence of insight that is consistent with (British poet) Sherry's poetry, and the idea of ​​recognizing the existence of the same spirit in all things.


However, there is something different from those two rare geniuses. Aside from their works and achievements, the two sometimes see things that are usually beyond the understanding of ordinary human beings, but Silver Birch is not biased toward "knowledge."
