ある年の復活祭（ｲｰｽﾀｰ）の季節にシルバーバーチは〝死〟を一年の四季の巡りになぞらえて、こう語った。

　「四季の絶妙な変化、途切れることのない永遠の巡りに思いを馳せて御覧なさい。すべての生命が眠る冬、その生命が目覚める春、生命の世界が美を競い合う夏、そして又、次の春までの眠りに備えて大自然が声をひそめはじめる秋。
